Christ College Brecon
Accommodation, catering and more
We are very pleased to have secured the use of Christ College, Brecon to act as a central focus for the event including the provision of accommodation and catering options.
Christ College is a long-established, high-quality educational establishment located adjacent to Brecon town centre. The College contains a collection of historic and more recent buildings set within attractive landscaped grounds.
It represents the perfect venue for competitors to meet and unwind. Details of the supporting social programme will be issued in due course but it is planned that the College will act as a central focus for the event with the provision of an enquiries service, other event information and our own ‘coffee shop’ within the campus which will be open at pre-arranged times.
On-site facilities available to all competitors include:
- Enquiries/meeting place/ancillary event activities- Neuadd Foyer & Hall
- Catering in the Dining Hall
- Coffee Shop, ‘Henry’s’, opening times to be confirmed but likely to be late afternoon/early evening
- Attractive landscaped grounds and sports pitches with views to the Brecon Beacons
- Short walk to riverside and the historic town centre of Brecon
All competitors are welcome to make use of the above facilities. We believe it offers a great venue to meet in very pleasant surroundings after a day of orienteering on the hills.
Furthermore, a finite number of beds are available and the College are offering to provide evening meals for those staying and also for non-residents if pre-booked. Details are set out below.
Accommodation available
Two Boarding Houses are available for orienteers consisting of 57 Rooms containing 96 beds. Rooms vary between single (34 no.), 2 bed (14 no.), 3 bed (3 no.), 4 bed (5 no.) and 5 bed (1 no.). All beds are single.
Accommodation must be paid for in full at the time of booking.
Due to anticipated demand, we cannot accept bookings for less than 6 nights.
Bookings will be taken on a first come, first served basis on a ‘full-room’ basis only.
We suggest that couples, families, those from same Club or friends may wish to share the rooms with more than 1 bed. In this respect, the bookings must be made to secure full-occupancy for each room rather than for single beds within rooms- This will be clear when using the bookings function on the website where you will also be asked to state the names of others sharing the room being booked.
Once capacity has been reached, we will be unable to accept any further bookings, but we will keep a Reserve List in the event of any individual cancellations.
In the event of any cancellations, we will do our best to re-let rooms but WOA retain the right to retain 100% of accommodation fees unless the room(s) can be re-booked.
Full Terms and Conditions are set out as part of the online Booking process.
Prices and catering options are set out in the following section.
