Welcome to the Welsh orienteering multiday festival, Croeso!

The next event will be staged in the beautiful Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons National Park) from the 21st to the 27th of July 2024.

We have six days of great orienteering planned suiting all abilities from families to those wanting to be challenged. Some fantastic new areas are waiting.

Format:

6 events, with the top 4 events counting towards the overall competition.
A mix of long-distance (4 races) and middle-distance (2 races).
Competition is divided into age categories: seniors have long and short categories, juniors are divided into A or B.

Areas:

We have a selection of new and old areas planned - a mixture of technical sand dunes, and classic Welsh open limestone moorland.

There are plenty of places to stay in and around Brecon and no matter your preference or budget, there's sure to be an option that meets your needs.

We would particularly like to draw your attention to the comfortable accommodation we have secured at the impressive Event Centre, Christ College, which will be the focus of activities during the week. Options are available for full or half board at very reasonable rates. Christ College provides an excellent base and will host numerous social events, wider activities, enquiries, coffee shop and is only a very short walk to the adjacent Brecon town centre where there will be further activities taking place during the week. We very much hope that the package offered at Christ College will really enhance your enjoyment of the week beyond the exciting orienteering offer and provide a great opportunity to unwind and socialise in magnificent surroundings. We have a finite capacity of rooms so please don't leave it too late if you intend to take up this option.

Social Activities

Come and meet up with other orienteers at the Croeso social events.

Croeso 24 is taking place in South Wales with amazing facilities on the doorstep such as Bannau Brycheiniog and all the adventure activities that come with this outdoor area, the book lovers town of Hay-on-Wye, the lovely town of Crickhowell and the facilities in Brecon itself including Theatre Brycheiniog, golf courses, Brecon's Coliseum Cinema and the Y Gaer and Royal Welsh Regiment Museums.

Alongside the daily events, there will be a range of social activities organised including brewery tours, walking tours of Brecon, a quiz, a Twmpath (a Welsh ceilidh) and yoga throughout the week. There will be events organised by the Croeso 24 Social Team, and signposting to other events happening in the area during that week. More events will be added, so please keep checking for updates.

Tickets to the activities will be sold on a first come first served basis from the Enquiries tent on Day 1 in Merthyr Mawr (and Day 2 if there are any tickets left!)
