All the social activities need tickets which can be reserved by emailing social@croeso.uk, and then paying and picking up the tickets at Croeso Enquiries on the early days of Croeso. Any remaining tickets will be sold at enquiries. Get in early or risk missing out!!
Brecon Town Trail.
Have a look around Brecon and see if you can find the orienteering symbols in various shops, cafes and museums. Print out at home before you come and each correctly completed form returned to the Croeso enquiries desk will receive a small prize.
Brecon Photo-O
Can you identify where each of the photos were taken in the Brecon Photo-O? Collect a question/answer sheet from enquiries (£2 donation to the Welsh Junior Orienteering Squad), take a wander around the streets of Brecon and find as many as you can. Fill in the location of each picture and return the answer sheet to enquiries by Mid-day on Friday so that they can be marked and a winner found. A beautiful memento for the winner has been made by SBOC and WJOS junior Freddie Lake, and will be presented along with the main prizes after the event on Saturday.
Brecon Turf

Using the map on the Turf app on your phone, you have 60 minutes to find, take, steal and hold as many Turf Zones as possible within the Event area. You can run, jog or walk though strategy will play it's part - the longer you hold onto your zones, the more points you get – Full Details and how to guide attached. A beautiful memento for the winner has been made by SBOC and WJOS junior Freddie Lake, and will be presented along with the main prizes after the event on Saturday.
Yoga
After the orienteering events, come and stretch your legs with beginners yoga in the beautiful grounds of Christ College with the wonderful views of Pen Y Fan and Bannau Brycheiniog. This will take place on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 6-7pm. Tickets are £5 per person and limited to 20 people per session, so make sure you get in early! Bring your own yoga mat or similar.
Croeso 2024 Quiz
Taking place at 8pm on Monday 22 Jul in Christ College Brecon. Bring your own drinks and snacks and £5 per person to enter.
Local Brewery Tours
On Monday and Tuesday you can visit the local Antur Brewery (based in Crickhowell approx. 10 miles from Brecon). The brew tour and beer tasting at Antur Brew Co in Crickhowell kicks off with a welcome beer of your choice, so you can try the results while they talk you through the brewing process. A relaxed discussion (questions welcomed) is then followed by a sit down tasting session of 6 beer samples, where you can put your new brewing knowledge to the test. Starting at 6pm and costing £15 per person, the tour will take approx 1.5-2hours. Spaces are limited to 20 people per tour so make sure you book early!
Walking Tours of Brecon
learn more about Brecon and it’s history on a tour with a knowledgeable local historian. Two tours on Tuesday and Thursday where you can find out about the little known aspects of the area.
Starting at 7.30pm with tickets at £5 per person.
Twmpath
A traditional Twmpath, or ceilidh, will take place at the beautiful Castle Hotel on Friday 26 Jul 24. Come and dance the night away with a local Twmpath band. Starts at 8pm, £12.50 per person.
Golf
3 tee times have been booked at Cradoc Golf Course https://cradoc.co.uk on Thursday 25th from 4.30pm for anyone who wants to play. The cost for a round is £27.50.

There are a range of other activities taking place throughout Brecon and the surrounding area that week including a Zulu Heritage Day, open rehearsals for Brecon Male Voice Choir, Brecon Pride, Brecon Choir Festival, Antur Brew Co food pop ups amongst others. The Royal Welsh Agricultural Show is also taking place that week (22-25 Jul 24) for anyone who wants to visit one of the premier agricultural shows in Europe.
